Trip to L&D...FAIL! :-(

We were up bright and early for our 8 am appointment at the doctor's office. It was for my 40-week appointment and Baby Jarbs' non-stress test. Well, we arrived at the doc's office and the doctor was not there! She had an emergency and had to go to the hospital for another patient. Also, the machine that they use for the non-stress test (NST) was broke! What such luck we have! We were then told to go to the hospital where they can do the NST and at the same time, see the doctor. So, off we went to Sibley Hospital. We have all our stuff with us in the car in case I end up getting admitted. After going through Admissions and getting tagged, we were brought up to the Labor & Delivery floor and was told to wait in one of the delivery rooms for my NST. I had to change to a hospital gown (which was huge on me) and had the fetal and contractions monitor strapped around my belly. They had to monitor Baby Jarbs' heartbeat and my contractions. The nurse gave me a pitcher-full of cranberry juice to drink to wake up Baby Jarbs. The good news is Baby Jarbs  is doing great! As always, she had a strong heartbeat of 150 bpm and did not show any signs of stress or anything that would cause for alarm. What a strong baby! Bad news is, there were no contractions recorded :-(. The doctor came later to check on me. Baby Jarbs is still head down BUT I am STILL 1 cm dilated with no effacement!! :-(. This is the third straight week that I've been stuck on 1 cm. As expected, Baby Jarbs has not "dropped" yet. She is still stuck in station -2. This explains why I still haven't felt that much pressure in my pelvis. She needs to be in station 0 before I can start feeling pressure. Sigh. So, the waiting continues. It does not look like she'll share the same birthday with Daddy Jarbs :-(. With how things are progressing (or should I say, not progressing), it looks like I will end up being induced and Baby Jarbs won't come out until November 3rd. This stubborn little baby has a mind of her own. Wonder where she got that from :-).
