Mother's Day!

I did not want anything else for Mother's Day but to spend fun day with my favorite girl :). We started the day walking to our neighborhood Farmers Market. Elle had fun seeing all the dogs. She would scream"doooog!" whenever she would see one : ). We then walked to our neighborhood tavern to have brunch!

Brunch at Rustik Tavern. This was taken from my phone so the photo is kinda dark.

Waiting for her blueberry pancake

When Elle woke up from her nap, we were then off to the zoo! The visit to the zoo is becoming a Mother's day tradition :-). The very first time we took Elle to the zoo was Mother's Day last year! She was only 6 months old then and did not have a clue of where we were and did not care about the animals. Now, she knows all the animals and was so excited to see them. Grandma, Grandpa Jarbs and cousin Kelly joined us on the visit to the zoo!

Elle loves her cousin Kelly. It was so sweet seeing them walk hand in hand :).

Elle got excited when she saw the photo of the lion. Little did she know she was going to see the real thing!

When she saw the real thing she screamed "liiiioooon" a little bit too loud :-).

Then and now. Taken exactly one year apart. What difference a year makes!

Elle loved walking hand in hand with Grandma Jarbs and cousin Kelly.
For once, she did not want me to carry her and Mommy Jarbs finally had a break :).

Elle also saw the gorillas and chimpanzees. It was the gorilla's nap time!

Elle watched the panda bear eat her afternoon snack!

Elephant!

Me and my mini-me. Yes, we got matching outfits :).
A lot of people have stopped us and commented how cute we both looked in our matching outfits.

Trip to the zoo!

Now that spring is here and the weather is nicer, it's time to bring back our Sunday Fun Days! Last Sunday, we we headed out to the zoo!  However, we got there a little bit too late in the day :(. By the time we arrived at the zoo, the big animals were already brought in so Elle did not get to see them. We'll have to come back again soon! Good thing the entrance to the zoo is free :).

The very first time we took Elle to the zoo, she was not even walking.
Now, she's running around and does not even want to sit in her stroller.

Elle would stop walking every couple of steps to sit on the curb. She thought it was fun!

The waterfall was a hit! She was mesmerized.

She kept pointing to the waterfall and kept saying "wa wa" (water)

We did not see the big animals but Elle saw the turtles!! She was SO happy to see them! She only saw them in her bath book but now she saw them in person. She kept saying "tootle" and kept waving hi to them lol.

More "tootles"

With Mommy & Daddy Jarbs

Elle got tired from running around and ran to this bench to sit

I can't wear my sunglasses without Elle grabbing it from me and kept trying to put it on!
She kept saying "mio, mio" which I later found out means "mine" in Spanish.

Another visit to the National Zoo

I took off work yesterday and along with Tita Elie, we took Eleiana to another visit to the zoo. The weather was sweltering HOT so we waited until late afternoon to go there. Compared to the 1st time we visited the zoo, which was a couple of months ago, this time Elle is more conscious of the animals.  She watched the animals and actually follow them with her eyes.

Mommy Jarbs' 1st Mother's Day

My 1st Mother's day was perfect to say the least :-). First, Daddy Jarbs got me an awesome gift! As you know, I love taking photos, especially of my little Elle. Daddy Jarbs knew I wanted to get a nice new camera somewhere down the road. Well, lo and behold, Daddy Jarbs got me a Nikon D3100 camera kit! Yay! I do not know anything about SLR cameras and have not done any research but looking at reviews now, it's the perfect camera for novices like me. I was so thrilled to receive it and excited to use it to take photos of Eleiana! Thanks so much Daddy Jarbs. You're the best!! :-)

We started the day going to Eleiana's swim class (photos to follow) and then had lunch to a restaurant of my choice. I did not want to eat anything fancy. I just wanted to eat crabs so we went to Quarterdeck, our favorite crab house :-). Yay! Eleiana cooperated during the 1st hour of our lunch and napped. She kept waking up during the 2nd hour so Daddy Jarbs and I took turns pushing her stroller around the block lol.

After lunch, we were debating whether to take Eleiana to a park or the National Zoo. We ended up taking Eleiana to her 1st trip to the zoo!

Ready for the zoo..but had to stop first to get her snack

First she saw the elephant..and then the panda

And then the lion and the gorillas

As you can see, we carried her out of her stroller and she was soo happy. Our girl loves the outdoors and she was in her element. She won't stop smiling! While I was carrying her, I heard the people behind me laughing. When I looked back, I realized that Eleiana, who was in my arms and facing the back, was charming them with her smile lol.

When it was Daddy Jarbs' turn to carry her, this was what I saw (see below). See her facial expression? She always makes that face when she's so happy! Of course, when Eleiana is happy, Mommy Jarbs is also happy :-).

Overall, it was a fun 1st Mother's day. I celebrated it with my two babies and I wouldn't have celebrated it any other way :-).
