Low key Saturday...

We were blessed with a great weather today so for lunch, we walked to the Thai restaurant in our neighborhood  and I ordered SPICY panang curry :-). After lunch, we walked straight to the  Washington Convention Center to check out the Green Festival. Daddy Jarbs and I try our best to live green and do our little share in saving the environment :-). This is the second year that we've gone to the festival. There were tons of cool booths and exhibits as per usual. When we got there, I lost Daddy Jarbs in the crowd but later found him in the Sweet Spud booth buying cute organic onesies and yoga pants for Baby Jarbs! lol.

We also checked out the Ford booth and test drove the 2011 Ford Hybrid Escape. We are planning on buying a new car in the near future and are seriously considering getting a hybrid SUV. We really liked the Ford Hybrid Escape!

A few people in the festival asked me when I am due. I found it amusing and entertaining to see the look in their faces when I answer them and say "tomorrow" :-). One lady said she thinks I have another week to go since my belly has not dropped yet :-/.

After going to the Green Festival, we walked back home. We had a good 2+ mile walk from home to the Convention Center and back. I hope it helped (even for a lil bit) push Baby Jarbs down!

We're ready...

but Baby Jarbs is not :-(.

I had my weekly doctor's appointment this morning. Since I've been feeling some cramping for the past week, I was confident I would have some progress. Well, I was disappointed to find out that I am STILL 1 cm dilated and not even effaced yet :-(. Sigh. Since my primary doctor has given birth last week and will not be available when I give birth, I now have to see the other doctor. We moved the induction date from Nov 1st to Nov 3rd when my "new" doctor is on-call. Daddy Jarbs and I think that having the induction date later is better so it will give Baby Jarbs more time to come out on her own and naturally rather than being medically-induced.

Here's my belly pic for this week. I wonder if this will be my last bump pic before Baby Jarbs arrives. It does not look and feel like my belly has dropped though so we may still have a long way to go :-/.

At this point, we are willing to try anything to help push this baby out sooo, we went to Yechon and had spicy Korean food for dinner :-)

My sister is here! Yay!

My sister arrived from Manila today :-). I was worried she won't make it here in time for my delivery but I guess Baby Jarbs wanted to wait for her Tita :-). She will be with me and Daddy Jarbs in the hospital delivery room. She's a dermatologist but has delivered babies during her medical training. It makes me feel good to have somebody in the room that we trust and at the same time is knowledgeable about medical stuff.

Look at what she got me and Baby Jarbs!

Cutest Burberry dress for Baby Jarbs!

Matching dress for me and Baby Jarbs!

I hope I lose all this pregnancy weight so I can fit into the dress in time for spring/summer next year!

39 weeks!

How far along?: 39w3d
How big is the baby?: Still the size of a watermelon! Huge watermelon that is!
Weight gain/loss:  30 lbs !
Pregnancy symptoms: huge belly, sensitive gums, weight gain, water retention, numb fingers due to pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel syndrome
Maternity clothes: At this point, anything that fits especially around the belly!
Stretch Marks: none!!
Sleep: Still getting 6-7 hrs of sleep
Best moment this week: Finding out I was already 1 cm dilated. Some progress at last!
Movement: They have slowed down a bit. I think she's slowly running out of space.
Food cravings: M&M pretzels..bad!! :-/
Food aversions: none
Labor signs: occasional cramping, lower back pains, dilated cervix
Belly button in or out: outie!
What I miss: My old body! Can't wait to bring my sexy back! lol
What I am looking forward to: Not going to work! My last day at work is this Friday and then I will be on maternity leave. Yay! I don't go back to work until February next year :-).
Milestones:

Baby's brain is still developing rapidly, and his skin has taken on a paler shade thanks to a thicker layer of fat around the blood vessels. (Don't worry; he'll change color again soon after birth.) He's now able to flex his limbs, and his nails might extend past his fingertips.

My doctor gave birth before me!

I got a call from my doc's office this morning to reschedule my appointment. I am scheduled to see her this coming friday for my weekly appointment. My doctor is also pregnant and is due a month after me. Well, now, she can't see me this Friday because she just had her baby yesterday and she's only 35-36 weeks!!! Holy moly! When I saw her during my appointment last Friday, she mentioned how uncomfortable she was while I was bragging that I wasn't lol. She said she thinks she's not going to make it to her due date. True enough, her baby came out before Baby Jarbs! Now, I have to see the other doctor in the practice who I also like and have already met. Whew!

Stocked up on food!

As part of our Operation Get-Ready-for-Baby Jarbs, Daddy Jarbs and I went to Cotsco after work today to do our grocery shopping and stock up on food! Our shopping cart was full! lol. Too bad I forgot to take a photo. Daddy Jarbs and I were both cracking up and agreed that it felt like we were preparing for a snowstorm and expect to be stuck in the house for a couple of weeks or something lol.

Baby Jarbs, we're ready for you! :-).

39 weeks and STILL pregnant!

Yes, Baby Jarbs still has not come out yet and I do not feel like she is coming out anytime soon! I still do not feel pressure in my pelvis so Baby Jarbs has not "dropped"yet. I haven't felt any contractions during the past couple of days either. I can still walk fine, still sleep well and overall feel good and  have a lot of energy. Daddy Jarbs thinks Baby Jarbs will make her debut next Friday. Why he picked that day, I do not know. My sister is arriving from Manila this coming Thursday so I am hoping Baby Jarbs won't come out until she gets here. Maybe Baby Jarbs is waiting for her Tita Elie? :-).

It has been a busy weekend for Daddy Jarbs and I. We just stayed home and nested all weekend. For some reason, we both feel like this will be the last weekend before Baby Jarbs arrives so we've been organizing and cleaning the house all weekend. It will just be a waiting game from here on out. Daddy Jarbs and I are both ready :-). I do not know if this is normal but I am not scared of going into labor and giving birth at all. I know it will hurt and I have mentally prepared for that. I know it will be painful but I trust that my body will do what it needs to do to safely deliver Baby Jarbs. I can only hope and pray that everything will go well during labor and delivery. I do not want to set myself up for disappointment but since the past 9 months have been a breeze, I am hoping that my L&D will be a breeze as well. Baby Jarbs has been a very good baby from the getgo so hope she doesn't give her mommy a hard time during labor.
