Last day in Cabo..

Today was our last day in Cabo. It's kinda bittersweet. The vacation seemed very short but we achieved our goal for the trip which was to relax and do nothing! This will be the last official vacation where there will only be the two of us - Daddy Jarbs and myself. However, we are excited and looking forward to taking Baby Jarbs with us on our future getwaways. We want to share with her our love for traveling so we plan to train her young :-)

How big is baby: The size of a sweet mango (my favorite fruit!!)!
Weight gain/loss: I have not weighed myself this week. After this vacation, I am scared to hop on the scale :-). I probably gained 5 lbs this week!!
Pregnancy symptoms: Growing belly, fetal movements/kicks
Maternity clothes: No maternity clothes this week but a lot of loose dresses/tops
Stretch Marks: None
Sleep: I've been getting tons of sleep this week so no complaints
Best moment this week: Finding out that Baby Jarbs is a GIRL and letting the rest of the world know :-). Also, Daddy Jarbs finally feeling the baby kick and telling her "I love you baby" :-).
Movement: Baby Jarbs has been kicking A LOT since last Friday! I can feel her kick everyday now. What an awesome feeling. It always brings a smile to my face.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular
Food aversions: Nothing in particular
Labor signs: None
Belly button in or out: Still in but getting shallower
What I miss: Not having a hard time getting dressed
What I am looking forward to: Start working on her nursery when we get back!
Milestones:

Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil, and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.)

Baby Jarbs got a massage...

Well, kinda :-).

Today was spa day for us! Daddy Jarbs got an 80 min sports massage and I got a prenatal massage! It felt great. I rarely doze off whenever I have a massage but for a few minutes during the massage, I was in la-la land :-). And yes, Baby Jarbs got a massage too! The masseuse did a gentle, soothing massage on my belly. I hope Baby Jarbs liked it. After my massage and while waiting for Daddy Jarbs, I then had my spa pedicure. We're teaching Baby Jarbs how to love spas and massages just like Daddy Jarbs and I do. Yes, we're starting her young :-).  Soon enough I'll have somebody to tag along and get manicures and pedicures with :-).

Later in the day, Daddy Jarbs and I walked again to downtown Cabo for a nice dinner and strolled around the marina. We went back to The Office to get some drinks (virgin pina colada for me) and listened to the live band. What a great way to end such a relaxing day!

What a day!

We had a rough day today! We ate, napped, ate, napped and ate again! :-). We have not had such a relaxing vacation since our honeymoon almost two years ago! We are trying to get as much sleep now. We heard sleepless nights await us when Baby Jarbs arrives. We pray that she will be an easy baby like she has been since the day she was conceived. So far (knock on wood), she has not given mommy and daddy a hard time. I am hoping that she will inherit Daddy Jarbs' sleeping habits so she will just sleep all day and night.

Today, we visited our resort's sister hotel, Pueblo Bonita Pacifica. We spent most of the afternoon lounging on the beach bed. It was soo relaxing!

Babymoon..finally!

Today was a special day because Daddy Jarbs felt Baby Jarbs kick for the first time! We were laying in bed chatting when I felt the kick. I then told Daddy Jarbs who immediately put his hand on my tummy. Then, she kicked again! Yay. Finally, she wasn't shy in having her kick felt by her daddy :-).

Today is the first official day of our babymoon. We started the day with a nice Sunday brunch by the beach. A lot of yummy food, not to mention the fantastic view!

After brunch, we were so stuffed so we went back to our rooms and napped :-). A couple of hours later, we laid down on the beach, under a canopy. Of course, I slathered myself with suncreen and drank my virgin pina colada.

While we were on the beach, a group of jugglers/drummers started performing in front of us. Baby Jarbs kicked when they started playing the congos (or whatever you call those drums). She probably got startled :-).

Later in the day, we walked to downtown Cabo and ended the night with a nice Mexican dinner at Mi Casa.

Off to Cabo...

I am currently at the National airport, waiting for our flight. We're finally off to Cabo! Weee! I think Baby Jarbs is excited too. She's been kicking up a storm since her official debut and big show yesterday. Prior to yesterday, she would only get her presence known once or twice per day. Yesterday, she was kicking all day and night. 

The idea of us having a baby girl is slowly sinking in. All the grandmas and titas (aunts) are excited to buy her cute baby clothes. How can you resist buying those adorable clothes :-). Daddy Jarbs is now thinking of all the sports that he would want her to play.  Umm, I just hope that she gets Daddy Jarbs' sports skills not mine! :-)

I am not sure if I will be  able to update the blog regularly for the next few days. I'll TRY not to log online and just enjoy our alone time together. I'll TRY....

Babymoon booked!

With Baby Jarbs' impending arrival in October, Daddy Jarbs and I had to make changes to our vacation plans this year. We were originally going to the Philippines to visit Mommy Jarbs' family and to get some R&R in Boracay. I was very close to booking our ticket to Manila but I am glad that I kept stalling. Little did we know that God has other plans for us. We have finally decided that we will forego with the Manila trip. Daddy Jarbs wants to use his vacation days when Baby Jarbs arrives. That way, he will be able to help me at home especially during those crucial first few weeks. 

We got invited to attend my cousin's wedding in Los Angeles this coming June. Since we will be out on the West coast for the wedding, we thought we'd plan our babymoon around it. We found a good deal on a flight to Cabo San Lucas so that's where we're going! We are staying at Pueblo Bonito Rose Resort. We have friends who have stayed in this resort and highly recommend it. It's in a good location and is a close walk to downtown.

This will be our last adult vacation before the baby arrives. Our exotic vacation in the next few years may be limited to trips to Disneyland & Hershey Park :-). We're looking forward to doing nothing but relax. I will be 19 weeks then so my belly will be bigger but it shouldn't be too bad. According to my doctor, second trimester is the best time to travel since I will (apparently) have my energy back. I can't wait!
