(Unofficial) Potty Training starts! (video)

Elle has been showing sings of readiness to potty train. Recently, she would communicate when she has gone pee pee or poo poo. For the past few days, she would wake up saying pee pee while pointing to her diaper and the changing table signalling that she wanted her diaper changed. I myself am not mentally, emotionally and physically ready to officially potty train her but since she is showing signs of readiness, I do not want to set her back. I won't lose anything but everything to gain if we start potty training early so I thought it won't hurt to do it showly but surely. I've set little goals for the both of us which I think works well for us. I am just following her lead and let her set the pace so it's not stressful for me :).

My goal for this week is to get her used to sitting on the potty as soon as she wakes up and before she goes to bed. We started doing this yesterday. As soon as she woke up, I asked, "You want to go potty"? She got excited and said "poppy, poppy", while pointing to her potty. I undressed her, sat her on the potty and she signalled me to grab her some books lol. She sat on the potty while I sat beside her and read her books. I waited for her to pee but she did not go which was totally fine. My goal anyway was just to get her into the habit of sitting on the potty as soon as she wakes up. This morning, we tried it again. I did the same thing. As soon as she woke up, I asked her to go potty. Again, she said "poppy, poppy". I took her clothes and diapers off, and then she sat down on her potty. She saw her potty book and she pointed at it and said "poppy". I grabbed it and read it to her. I thought she wouldn't go again but then all of a sudden she said "pee pee" and then stood right up. I looked in the potty and there was pee! Hooray!!!! I was so happy lol. Elle responds very well with routine so if we keep doing this, hopefully, she'll slowly associate potty with pee pee and poo poo and she will get potty trained by the time she turns two years old! :).

Here is a video I took of Elle last week while I was playing with her in the care. We were waiting for Daddy Jarbs who was getting dinner at the Fish Market. While we were playing, Elle passed gas :-P. You can barely here it on the video but it's on 0.13 sec mark. You can see how her facial expression changed and then she said "pee pee". Apparently, #1, #2, #3 are all "pee pee" to her lol.
