Happy Friday!

I wanted to take a quick photo of Elle this morning before we left for work/daycare. She looked adorable in her skinny jeans. Too bad I did not have my DSLR camera ready so I had to take the photo using my camera phone. She always gets startled with the camera flash so this photo did not turn out well (see her eyes closed?). You can see her outfit here though.

I took this video while in the car. Here she is playing with Sophie.

Here is my attempt in trying to take a video of her opening and closing her hands while Mommy Jarbs sings :-P. Well, she did not want to cooperate but in this video you can see her two bottom teeth when she smiled.

Elle's got tooth!

Elle has been teething since she was 3 months old. She's been drooling a lot and gnawing on pretty much everything for the longest time. As we were driving back from Annapolis last Monday and Elle and I were playing in the back seat, I noticed some white stuff on her gums as she giggled. I looked closely and it was a "toof" poking out of her gums! Of course, I got all excited that our little girl finally cut her first tooth :-). She got it 3 days short of her 7 month birthday. We were actually surprised that she finally cut her 1st tooth because we never noticed that she was in any discomfort prior to the tooth coming out (knock on wood). Now, I am starting to think that the diarrhea she had a couple of weeks ago may have been related to her teething.

I tried taking a photo of her toof but she wouldn't let me lol.

After a few attempts of trying to make her giggle, I finally got a shot of her little toof!



Elle got sent home from day care...

Our poor girl was sent home from day care yesterday :(. She had a mild case of diarrhea. The day care's policy is to send home kids who are sick so I left work early to pick her up.  The nurse at the doc's office said there is a stomach bug going around but Elle did not have any fever or was not vomiting so I did not think it was related to that. Interestingly, she was still in good spirits and the runs does not seem to bother her.

Today, I stayed home with her since I was not sure if she's already well enough to go to day care. Everyday, for the past three days, she has been waking up with soiled diapers. This morning, there was nothing so I thought she was already done with her diarrhea. Well, while she was on the changing table and airing out her bum, she went!!! Ick! Good thing there was a prefold underneath her bootie so it was able to catch everything lol. She was still happy the rest of the day although I noticed she was a tad clingy. She wanted to be cuddled to sleep during nap time which she hasn't done in ages. Normally, she would fuss because she wants to be laid down on the crib! She woke up in the middle of the night screaming and crying and wanted to eat, which is out of the ordinary. Again, she wanted to be cuddled back to sleep which I thought was really sweet. It seemed like something was bothering her. My guess is it is related to teething. Aww, poor thing.

Teething?

Today, Elle has been extra fussy and very sleepy. We think she is going through a 12-week growth spurt. Also, lately she's been drooling a LOT. She loves making bubbles with her saliva lol! We are not sure if she has started teething. She is only 12 weeks old which we think is a bit too early for teething? When we were feeding her this evening, she would stop and cry and put her hand in her mouth. We wonder if her gums are bothering her?
