Elle's "new" walker

I've been meaning to get Elle a toy walker to help her practice her new found skill, which is walking. Now, I don't need to get her one. My friend Barbs offered to have us borrow her daughter Lara's toy walker. Lara is now an expert in walking so she does not pay much attention to the toy walker anymore. Glad we do not have to buy a toy walker anymore and it saved us some $. Elle will probably only use this for a few weeks before she's full on walking. Thanks Barbs & Lara! Elle promises to take good care of it :).

Elle loved the toy walker! Since I brought it home, she's been playing with it and walking back and forth the living room and kitchen. It's funny how she easily figured out how to maneuver it especially when she's stuck in a corner. It's also kinda cute having this little person (well, aside from me) walk around the house on her own.

Stuck at home and the baby gate is up! (video)

We were stuck at home today because of Hurricane Irene. It is my birthday weekend and Daddy Jarbs originally planned for us to spend my birthday at Kings Dominion. He booked a hotel room near the park for Saturday night. Unfortunately, he had to cancel his surprise birthday plans for me because of Hurricane Irene. Nevertheless, we still made the most out of our weekend. Daddy Jarbs ran errands this morning and came home with flowers and a bag full of Mommy Jarbs' favorite food: seafood pan friend noodles from FulKee (my favorite Chinese restaurant),  calamari (my all-time favorite appetizer) from Carmine's, snow crab legs and ice cream (who doesn't love ice cream?). With all the yummy food, we were ready to be stuck at home :-).

Having Elle is enough to keep us entertained and busy while being stuck at home. Daddy Jarbs finally set up the baby gate that was given by Grandma Jarbs. Elle now has a bigger space to crawl/move around :-).

Here is a video I took of her this morning. She now knows when I am referring to her baby doll and looks for it when I ask her where her baby is. I was trying to have her kiss her baby but she was not feeling it lol.

Elle plays with her new stacking blocks!

I was starting to get bored with Elle's toys so I got her the Melissa and Doug stacking blocks to play with :-). At first, she tried to eat them but now, she loves knocking them over and over again!

After a few minutes, she forgot about the blocks and went back to playing with her musical table.

Fun with the bubbles! (video)

I almost forgot that I have a pack of Bubbles Oodles which was given to us when I signed up Elle at Gymboree. Now, Elle is old enough to appreciate them so I took it out and we all had fun playing with the bubbles!

Fun time at Great Beginnings (videos)

Elle had a ball playing with the toys at Great Beginnings. The last time we were here was when she was 3 months old and she was not interested in any toys back then. Now, she is all over them! I guess we should just go here every weekend and let her play vs having to buy them? lol.
Here she is having a ball while in the jumperoo. We were very close to buying it after seeing how much fun she had while in it!

We ended up getting the Go Pod. We originally looked at getting this back when Elle was 3 months old but thought she was still too young for it. Daddy Jarbs like that it is very portable and can take it with us when we travel.

Elle looked so cute playing with the mini-piano. The piano box says it is recommended for ages 4+. Perhaps, a gift a idea ~3 yrs from now?

Elle loves her baby doll!

I finally unboxed the baby doll that I got as a present during my baby shower and gave it to Elle. She loved it! Her eyes lit up when she saw the doll. It is soft and cuddly and makes a lot of cute noises (although Daddy Jarbs thinks it's a weird looking baby!). She gets amazed and smiles when she hears the baby make cute noises.

She likes to give her baby lots of kisses! And yeah, she uses her bib as a cape lol.

She tries to drink the baby's milk too! lol

Elle's "new" toy

Grandma Jarbs visited us this weekend and brought Elle's "new" toy. It is a horse rocker which is on loan from her cousins Kaitlin, Kelly & Ryan. Aunt Kim plan to keep this rocker within the family and pass it down to the next generation. Who knows, Elle's daughter may use this horse rocker 30+ years from now :-).

4th night without a pacifier!

We have started the process of slowly weaning Elle off the pacifier. As it is, we only give her a pacifier while she is in the crib during naptime/bedtime or when we are out in public and she starts fussing. Pacificiers are not allowed at her day care so she is mostly pacifier-free during the day. We have noticed that she's slowly getting depended on the pacifier during bed time which prompted us to start the weaning process. The earlier we nip it in the bud, the better. Tonight marked the 4th night that she went down without a pacifier! Yay! For the past few nights, whenever I'd put her down on the crib, I'd hand her Kaloo rabbit (we call it Mr. Rabbit :-P) and she would get so excited. It's so soft and squishy :-). I think she's slowly associating Mr. Rabbit with nap/bed time so it keeps her mind off of her binky. When I'd check on her in the middle of the night, I'd see her with one arm wrapped around Mr. Rabbit. Aww, how sweet!  At  her age, I am not worried about SIDS or her suffocating on her stuffed animal. She moves A LOT during her sleep and can move her head if she needs to. We're keeping our fingers crossed that we won't ever have to bring her binky out during bedtime.

Look at her hugging Mr. Rabbit during her sleep :-)

Elle's 1st Easter basket

Here are photos of Elle with her 1st Easter basket. The Easter bunny got her a lot of goodies: Aden + Anais sleep slack, hibiscus summer hat (which she'll hopefully wear when we go to the beach this summer), Baby Banana training toothbrush, huge bibs (for when she starts eating solids), Trumpette Minnie socks and tights, Sassy Look Photo Book (which includes photos of family members), Green Sprouts stacking cups and of course, a Kaloo bunny doll.

Checking out her Easter basket

The bunny ears tastes good!

Another toy!

I got Elle a new toy! Thanks to my mom friends who recommended the Winkel. It is perfect for Elle's little hands. The rings are small enough for her to hold and it has a rattle which is good to stimulate hearing. It is also BPA-free which is a big plus and makes it perfect for teething!

Daddy Jarbs said she got this look from me :-P.

My fingers are yummy, Mommy!

Toy shopping!

Today, we took Elle toy shopping! She loves her activity mat but now, she does not like to be laying down all the time. She loves sitting upright!

We went to Great Beginnings to check out the jumperoo and exersaucer. We want to have Elle try them out and see if she'll like them before we bite the bullet and purchase it.

"I'm ready to go shopping Mommy"

We had her try the exersaucer and jumperoo but she was not a big fan :-(. She's still too small for them so we may have to check them out again later when she is a tad bigger.

Fischer Price Rainforest Jumperoo

We also had her try out this Go-Pod! We like it because it is portable so we can take it anywhere. We can also hook the toys that we already have for her to play. However, she did not seem too thrilled with it :-(.

While we were at the store, we saw the Bumbo seat. We did not plan on buying one since we've been using her Boon high chair to have her sit up. We thought she would like the Bumbo though since she loves sitting up. Nevertheless, we had her try it out. As soon as we sat her down, she gave us a big smile which she never did when trying out the other stuff earlier. She loves it sooo we had to get one :-).

We got a winner!

Here's a video of her in the Bumbo. Sorry, I do not know why my camera phone wouldn't take the video upright!

Here she is playing peekaboo with Mommy while Daddy Jarbs was driving. She won't stop giggling. So adorable!

Play time!

Elle loves playing in her jungle activity mat given by Grandaunt Amy! She loves kicking the elephant rattle and looking at the animals, especially the monkey! She's slowly discovering that her kicking/motion activates the lights and music. It's so cute to watch her play!
