Car seat installed!

After several attempts in getting the car seat installed and inspected, we finally had it done today!

After my doc's appointment, Daddy Jarbs and I went to Safe Kids DC Car Seat Inspection Station located at the Children's Health Center - THEARC in SE, DC. Sylvia, the certified car seat inspector was very thorough. She taught us how to properly install the car seat, properly position the baby in the seat, adjusting the handle, straps, sunshade, etc! We left the inspection site feeling more confident and knowledgeable on what we need to do to keep Baby Jarbs safe in the car :-).

Finally...some progress!!

Daddy Jarbs and I went to my 38-week doctor's appointment this morning. Good news is that I am already 1 cm dilated! Yay! I know it's not much but little progress is better than no progress at all. Baby Jarbs is still head down and the doctor said she will more than likely stay in that position until delivery. Good job Baby Jarbs!

I have one more appointment scheduled and I will be 39 weeks then. That is, if I do not go into labor between now and next Friday. Also, we have scheduled the induction date in case I do not go into labor by my due date and Baby Jarbs decides to come in late. The eviction date has been scheduled on November 1st which incidentally is All Saints day in the Catholic calendar.

My stats: BP is 122/80 and I lost -1 lb since last week's appointment. The medical assistant said my belly is bigger than me! lol.

38-week bump pic

Since we're getting down to the wire, I try to be diligent in taking my weekly bump pics. Who knows, this may be my last before Baby Jarbs arrives!

38 weeks!

How far along?: 38w3d

How big is the baby?: Still the size of a watermelon!!
Weight gain/loss:  30 lbs !
Pregnancy symptoms: bleeding gums, huge belly, round ligament pain, mild symptoms carpal tunnel syndrome :-(.
Maternity clothes: long shirts/tanks to cover my belly, dresses and my 2 maternity pants! couple more weeks so i am not buying any more clothes!
Stretch Marks: none!!
Sleep: 6-7 hrs of sleep. I am thankful that I still get decent sleep and do not feel uncomfortable while sleeping.
Best moment this week: Date nights with Daddy Jarbs. We've been going out/dining out a lot these past few weeks/ days and enjoying our quiet time together.
Movement: Yes! It does feel like she is running out of space. She's probably getting crammed in there.  A couple of times I felt her shaking! lol
Food cravings: anything sweet
Food aversions: none
Labor signs: more noticeable cramping and belly tightening. I guess it's Braxton Hicks contraction?
Belly button in or out: outie and Baby Jarbs keeps pushing it out!
What I miss: My old body! Can't wait to bring my sexy back! lol
What I am looking forward to: Next doc's appointment to see if there's any progress at all. I can't believe Baby Jarbs can come out any day now :-).
Milestones:

The last bits of vernix caseosa (the white goo keeping baby's skin moist) and lanugo (downy hair) are slowly shedding into your amniotic fluid. Baby's head is about the same circumference as her abdomen, and her head could be covered in an inch or so of hair.

Baby Jarbs goes to the Wizards game!

Daddy Jarbs and I went to the Washington Wizards' pre-season game tonight. I am not sure if I'll be able to watch any of the live games during the next few months since Baby Jarbs will be here ,so I took advantage and watched tonight's game. Guess what? During the game I won a free Chipotle burrito! They normally give burritos out during one of the time-outs. I am not a huge burrito fan and just normally ignore it when they are giving it out but this time, I figured it will be fun to see if they'll take pity to a pregnant girl. I stood on the aisle and waived to get their attention. Well, I guess you can't miss me with my huge belly and as expected, they gave the burrito to me! Teehee.

Daddy Jarbs and I love basketball and we can't wait to bring Baby Jarbs to the games!

Love our BOB Rev stroller!

Even though we do not plan to use the BOB Revolution stroller until Baby Jarbs is a few months old, we decided to open the box and assemble the stroller. We want to make sure that all the parts are complete and nothing is damaged and we'll be able to exchange/return it if need be. Daddy Jarbs tackled the job and assembled the BOB! Everything looks great and we love the chocolate brown/blue color. We can't wait to use it!

Both the Snap-N-Go and Bob Revolution strollers have been assembled. Just waiting for Baby Jarbs to arrive!! :-).
