Elle turned 8 months old last Sunday. Here are her 8 month photos.
* Weighs 17.8 lbs. She's getting too heavy for me to carry! We have also observed that she is starting to get pudgy around the waist :-).
* Drinks about 25-30 ozs/ day and eats solids 3x a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
* Still has 2 bottom teeth. We think a 3rd one will pop out any day now.
* Sleeps from ~8 pm to ~ 7 am. She consistently sleeps through the night (yay for mommy and daddy!)
* Still uses pacifier when she goes to bed. We leave a couple of pacifiers in her crib during bedtime and she knows how to "look" for them in the middle of the night. I got her a paci plushie when she was 3 months old but she wasn't a big fan then. Now, she loves it and it helps her find her binky easier. We try to limit her use of the pacifier. We also bust it out when we're out in public (last resort), when she's not in the bestest mood.
* So far, she has tried rice cereal, carrots, mangoes, green peas, Yo Baby yogurt, banana & veggie puffs, banana, zucchini, squash, sweet potato. She pretty much eats everything we give her. Her favorite is zucchini. Her teacher at day care said she cried one day after she ate all of the zucchini I packed for her for lunch. She wanted more lol. Wonder where she got her appetite from :-).
* Since she now eats solids, her poops have become more solid too. She gets scared and cry when she poops lol. The other day, Daddy Jarbs and I were laughing so hard when we saw that her poop looks like a perfectly-shaped chocolate egg! lol. Poor baby. I had to stop putting bananas in her rice cereal so she would stop laying chocolate eggs :-).
- Loves giving kisses...to Mommy Jarbs, Daddy Jarbs, Mr. Teddy, Mr. Monkey, Goodnight Hawaii book, etc. She gives kisses both on command and if she's in a good mood, will just voluntarily plant a wet one on our cheeks :-)
* Fascinated with label tags. She manages to find them everywhere and it goes straight to her mouth
* She enjoys playing with her musical table, sophie, stacking cups, books (eats them). She also loves all her stuffed animals. She gives them all kisses!
* Loves to play "where's Elle?" She'll cover her face with a blankie and wouldn't move. I'd say "where's Elle?", pull the blankie off her face and she would crack up.
* Can't officially crawl yet but pushes herself backwards when she is on her tummy. She also reaches out for her toys and moves side to side while on her tummy.
* She has very strong legs and loves to stand up
* Moves her feet and takes steps when you hold her in a walking position
* Exhibits sense of humor. She would do silly things which will elicit a laugh from us. She'll crack herself up too.
* Recognizes Mommy Jarbs, Daddy Jarbs, Grandma Jarbs and her teachers at day care. She has started to exhibit stranger anxiety. She would not go to strangers or people she just met. She does warm up to them though after some time.
* Loves her teachers at day care. A new teacher (Ms. Sylvia) has been assigned to take care of her and Elle loves her. Whenever I'd pick her up in the afternoon, she doesn't even want to leave and reaches her arms out to Ms. Slvia when I am already holding her! I take this as a good sign that her teachers are taking good care of her and Elle feels loved and cared for when she at day care.
* Loves to listen to her Filipino nursery songs on the way to day care. Daddy Jarbs drops her off at day care every morning and normally listens to the sports radio. Elle would start fussing but would stop when Daddy Jarbs switches to the Filipino cd :-P.
* Wears mostly 6-9 month clothes and a couple of 12 month ones! This girl has tons of clothes!
* Loves to play & eat her Boon rubber ducky during bath time. She is not scared of the water and would smile after we pour water from her head down to her face.
Of course, her monthly birthday will not be complete without the cupcake! Yummy vanilla coconut cupcake from Crumbs!
